It was a nice party a couple of weeks ago with the Nuffies as we hung out in honor of Patty and Dani, who are embarking on their own endeavours in the near future. V8 served as the scene of the crime as we put our musical chops to the test in a free-for-all videoke night.

... yes, I took my videoke hits, a good bunch of them, to YouTube.

Let the wailing and gnashing of teeth begin. Lol.

This is crazy, but I'm starting to get addicted to online videoke, where I get to record myself singing my lungs out, then sharing the agony to my friends online.

It's pretty cool, although the annoying thing is that each of them have their own weaknesses that really grate on me, considering I'm using about three different sites to try my stuff out...

Karaoke Play has a nice library because lots of new songs end up with them, but they use YouTube videos and the music gets in the way of your singing, because they're rarely minus one. Furthermore, a lot of the videos don't show up on your browser, since certain videos would be "not available in your country" if you played it on YouTube. Oh, and you have to turn up your speakers so that the music gets picked up by the mics. Otherwise, tough.

Red Karaoke is awesome except their songs sometimes don't record in sync with your vocals. You have no idea how frustrating that is for me, having sung two recordings of "Push", and neither of them are in sync.

Sing Snap, lastly, has a library of songs you have to pay to access. So for the fans of High School Musical, you have to pay to get their songs. And their player, while advanced and all, produces very choppy recordings, although they at least allow you to sync your vocals with your music...

I just absolutely wish they'd finally get "Mad" by Ne-Yo in one of these sites... or I'd learn enough Soundforge to record my own version. Grrr....

In any case, this videoke bug was brought about by last Saturday's rendezvous with Elbert and Jonas, after El's meet and greet in Comic Odyssey in Galleria. Shortly after this, I hung out a bit with The Story Circle then proceeded to Greenhills for some pure, anadulterated videoke goodness.

After having recorded some audio disasters, I also found the Sims Onstage, which is a pretty nice play for recording, and I'm hoping that I can do better there as they seem to have the best resources for me to put to use and all.

I'd regale you with some of my recorded songs, but I don't think the world is ready for them yet.

The Rest Of The Week, In Brief...

… was nothing short of memorable.

I can't say much else about the event other than the fact that it was a really great night, featuring the debut of a phone that has an 8 Megapixel camera, and a host of other remarkable features. A few people even won a Pixon apiece.

That, and Billy Crawford performed! Yeba. :P

.:Videoke Night: Thursday:.

Since December 4 was the last day for our Red Box GC's (Yep. The ones I got for cosplaying... heh.), so I had another video night with “cousins” Sire and Ed, Carlo, Mica, Martin, and Jonas. All in all, it was a pretty awesome night, even if I was admittedly a bit late, since I accidentally left my gift certificates at home, so I had to rush back home to get 'em.

In any case, with blind-item laden songs, comedy gold, and a craving for even more videoke after midnight, I think this was an awesome bonding time for all of us. Been a while since I've seen Martin, given that he met me more or less just when I've been starting off on my magic career and all that, so all in all, this has been a great night to hang out, sing, and connect with friends.

It was awesome! You should've been there... it was great hanging out with Sire and Ed, but of course, the star of the night was the band, and of course our good friend, Master Diwa.

The Weekend That Refused To End Finally Comes To An End...

The temptation to just sing your heart out in front of an audience who will not hate you for it was just too strong, so I found myself in the company of Ria Jose, Juned, Fritz, Poyt, Billycoy, Arbet, Arpee, Markku (with girlfriend), and Jayvee (with girlfriend).

It was a Videoke Friday Night in Red Box, and as usual, I went and sang my heart out, letting go of all the crazy feelings I had hounding me throughout the day. I went the gamut of Gary Valenciano, The Cure, Ne-Yo, High School Musical, Salbakuta, and a host of other songs. It was an impromptu concert for me, although of course, I wasn't alone in singing my lungs out, what with Hagibis and Village People and Queen in on the fun.

My thanks to Juned again for the very awesome Videoke night, as well as the great food! My thanks as well to everyone else for putting up with my wannabe concert and my oddest of odd song choices...

.:The Radio Show Of Doom:.

I was a zombie by the time I headed to the station, and it was definitely going to be an uphill battle for me, as I went to my radio show and realized that contrary to what I thought, I was going to be there alone.

I loved the music and all, but not having the person I've been boarding with for the past few days did feel very strange for me at the time...

It got even more awkward when we talked around 6:30 or so, since that person showed up during the show after mine, and we had to painstakingly process what's been happening to us the past few days... it wasn't pleasant, by any means.

.:Binondo Food Tour!:.

I had to ignore the fact that I was extremely tired and depressed by the time I got to the Guadalupe Ferry Station so I can join Melo, Nina, and even Ryan, who showed up a bit late, Wait, scratch that. He showed up unbelievably late.

I had a few minutes of sleep though when I sat in the station. Nina woke me up about ten or so minutes after I dozed off. Conversations were funny, as it went the gamut of the anime community, the tour of bitterness, and other randomly hilarious topics.

We ate in three restaurants, mainly: Dong Bei, Sincerity, and Wai Ying. At each stop, we ate a ton of food, including excellent dumplings, oyster omelette, and the famous uber-affordable Wai Ying duck rice.

Aside from that, I even had seedless Kiamoy to take home, but unfortunately, didn't have the foresight to buy at least a kilo's worth. Heh.

Will write more once I have pics to borrow, but for now, it was excellent, and I'm happy about it.

I now have 180 meters of rope for my bedroom magic shows. Can you believe it? :P

.:Capping Off With Another Solo Show...:.

And Sunday was my four-hour show that just drained all remaining energy from me. Throughout this weekend, I've barely had any sleep, so I guess I'm grateful that I managed to have people keep me company online... especially since I got to dedicate a few songs here and there, to people who just really made my day...

It wasn't so bad, really. Thanks to Kring for at least listening to a part of my show! You rock!

Friends like her do keep me from feeling horrible that I was doing the show alone for the second straight day already...
