Project 52 2014 (26/52): Grenade

.:Project 52 2014 (26/52): Grenade:.

Easy come, easy go. That's just how you live, oh...

Take, take, take it all, but you never give...

Should've known you was trouble from the first kiss...

Had your eyes wide open, why were they open?

Gave you all I had, and you tossed it in the trash

You tossed it in the trash, you did

To give me all your love is all I ever asked

'Cause what you don't understand is...

I would catch a grenade for you

Throw my hand on a blade for you

I'd jump in front of a train for you

You know I'd do anything for you

I would go through all this pain, take a bullet straight through my brain

Yes I would die for you, baby - but you won't do the same.

[Pre-Chorus:]
Gave you all I had
And you tossed it in the trash
You tossed it in the trash, you did
To give me all your love is all I ever asked
'Cause what you don't understand is...

[Chorus:]
I'd catch a grenade for you (yeah, yeah, yeah)
Throw my hand on a blade for you (yeah, yeah, yeah)
I'd jump in front of a train for you (yeah, yeah, yeah)
You know I'd do anything for you (yeah, yeah, yeah)
Oh, I would go through all this pain
Take a bullet straight through my brain
Yes, I would die for you, baby
But you won't do the same

Project 52 2014 (25/52): King Of Anything

.:Project 52 2014 (25/52): King Of Anything:.

Keep drinkin' coffee...

Why is it that when these blowhard politicians get all caught up in their web of lies, suddenly they're the "victims?" And yet life goes on for them, even while incarcerated. Look at Bong Revilla, telling everyone how ready he is to go to jail, yet immediately petitioning for request of detention center after his bid for house arrest didn't quite pan out? How about Senator Enrile, who is asking for bail or something just because he's 90 years old? These people don't know how to handle the consequences of what they've done. At all.

And who pays for this folly? We, the people, do. When they bring a camera crew to cover their every move and hopefully reuse the footage when they run for president in 2016, we have this sinking feeling that the money to pay for all that bullsh!t came from us.

Stare me down across the table while I look outside...

Yet somehow, when we, the common people, speak out against these travesties, somehow, we are "oppressing" them. How the Hades do you expect to "oppress" people worth 169 million pesos, pray tell? It's ridiculous, and the way they drag God into everything they talk about has become so tiresome. That sh!t never made Mayor Sanchez any less a murderer and rapist, did it? So quit playing that card because even Satan himself knew how to quote himself some scripture.

So I just glare. And roll my eyes. But if I rolled my eyes any harder, I might end up looking at the back of my skull.

Or become the Undertaker.

So many things I'd say if  only I were able but I just keep quiet...

And you think I'm already being vocal as it stands? Well, you'd be surprised, because there is so much more that remains unsaid when it comes to these fatcat politicians who think they're all that. One can't help but be appalled at the sheer nerve they have, doing what they do, but then, does it really surprise anyone anymonre?

And count the cars that pass by...

That's all I could do, really, because it boggles my mind how the good Senators have managed to make this issue about them, instead of the f#$%ng 10 Billion Pesos that have been stolen from this nation's coffers. You know why you're being arrested, right? If you really cared about this country, that's what you should be railing against, not the fact that you don't have air conditioning in your goddamned jail cell, which you totally shouldn't have, by the way.

I realize SJW's use "check your privilege" all the time when it comes to racial, gender, or sexual issues, but when it comes to economic issues, these well-to-do senators really have to check their privilege, because a combined income of almost 400 Million Pesos between Senators Revilla and Estrada alone should seriously qualify as being "privileged."

You've got opinions, man, we're all entitled to 'em, but I never asked...

And so these so-called leaders feel oppressed and maltreated because they get singled out for doing something countless other politicians no doubt are doing, too. Here's a secret: saying other people are doing it too doesn't make you innocent of the act. It just meant you weren't alone. Nobody's saying you were alone, and only your political enemies want it that way. But we, the people? We want every single one of you to pay through the nose for taking our money and turning it into your own personal bank account.

So feel free to think you're being oppressed, but we don't care. Because we couldn't oppress you even if we tried.

Here. Play the world's smallest violin yourself. I don't have the energy.

So let me thank you for your time, and try to not waste any more of mine...

Not just time, but money, too. Stop wasting our money with your stupid press conferences, your press coverages, your trumped up entourage, all paid for on our dime, just because you think you're above the common folk.

I can bet you that if I ever go to jail, guilty or innocent, I won't be getting that kind of media coverage, I wouldn't have supporters fighting tooth and nail to keep me out of jail, nor would I even have the temerity much less the opportunity to ask for air conditioning in my jail cell.

Get out of here fast...

And don't come back. But leave your money at the door, because that's our money right there.

I hate to break it to you, babe, but I'm not drowning. There's no one here to save...

The Filipino people doesn't need saving from the likes of you. We could have had savings, in fact, if you didn't take them from us and spent them on yourself, you dolts. We're fine counting on ourselves, because it didn't take too long for us to realize that we couldn't count on you for anything at all.

So stop invoking God as if He gave you the right to be a self-appointed martyr. The only altar you're sacrificing yourself at is your own.

Every single time you use His name in vain, He facepalms.

Who cares if you disagree? You are not me. Who made you king of anything?

You may have been elected by the people, but that doesn't put you above the people. Not in the least. For you to live in that kind of opulence while your constituents are starving to death, wondering where their next meal is going to come from is a shame that is telling. Because that money came from your constituents. You took it from them in the implicit promise that they will see the fruits of that money returned unto them, yet here we all are, putting up with monster traffic jams, a continuous problem with peace and order, and no clear solution in sight.

So don't tell us about how it's the implementing body's fault that you gave your pork barrel money to a bogus NGO. At best, you are idiots who should never have been trusted with our money in the first place. Why are you even still in power, then?

So you dare tell me who to be, who died and made you king of anything?

If anyone should die to make you king of anything, it should be you. Angelo Reyes got it right. You can do it!

Project 52 2014 (24/52): Salamat, Kaibigan

.:Project 52 2014 (24/52): Salamat, Kaibigan:.

Salamat sa inyong pagmamahal…

Who doesn’t love Bong Revilla? Who doesn’t love how much effort he clearly puts into helping run this country while still juggling a movie career. With nearly 20 million people who have voted him into power, it’s very clear that there’s a lot of love to go around for Bong Revilla. Just ask Rufa Mae Qu… I mean, Lani Mercado.

Bong Revilla is love, ladies and gentlemen. Don’t get any of that twisted.

Pictured: Love.

Sa tiwala, pananalig, at dasal…

Millions of people believe in Bong Revilla. They trust him with their life. They pray for him to make it through this latest challenge facing him. And we certainly have to hope nothing but the best for him, right? That’s why he needs our prayers now, more than ever. Surely, God will listen to the supplications of a man who is truly beleaguered and at the lowest of the low, who just happens to have a net worth of 169 million Pesos.

Yes, please pray for this man. Pray for him because he is clearly in need of so much help and pity.

Ang pagsubok sa ‘ting buhay ay hindi magtatagal…

Of course not. Trials never last. If you’re a person born to a debilitating genetic disease with no cure for it, that trial certainly won’t last, right? Such brilliance! Such perspective! Only from the lofty heights of being privileged does someone get to say that tough times never last, so it’s good to know exactly where our beloved Senator Revilla is coming from.

You too, can get past this. All you need to do is... BONG-LIEVE!

Katotohanan lilitaw, sa gabay ng Maykapal…

Has anyone actually bothered asking God if he likes having his named dragged into these speeches? He has never responded and they just assume He’s totally cool with it? Okay. Carry on, then, Senator Revilla!

Kailanman ay ‘di nang-iiwan.

He has certainly never left anyone behind. After all, he’s still with his wife after all those affairs years, right? Truly, Senator Revilla is a paragon of all that is good and righteous, as he suffers through tempest after tempest of accusations. After all, it makes all the sense in the world that he earned all his money through hard work and dedication! It’s not like every single whistleblower is insisting that he had a hand in stealing 10 Billion of our money, right? So no, just like a piece of crap you keep flushing but keeps coming back, he’s not leaving us anytime soon.

Sumama, nanalig sa anumang laban…

Yes, let’s keep praying for Bong Revilla, everyone! Because the more we pray, the less we could do other things with our time, like actually put him and his kind on trial. So just keep on praying, keep on praying, and keep on praying, lest you actually try to get some sh!t done instead, which would really not help Bong Revilla get away with anything.

Pictured: Senator Bong Revilla, fighting. For us.

Ngayon ang buhay ko ay pilit dinudungisan…

It’s all mudslinging, ladies and gentlemen. When a country like ours continues being ridiculously poor while people like Janet Napoles and Pogi, Tanda, and Sexy keep getting richer and richer, any suspicious glances cast their way is merely mudslinging. And leave us not forget those other people who are in league with them who just don’t happen to be their political allies, too. Sullying their name? Just more mudslinging and destabilization, so let’s all just keep praying and doing exactly jacksh!t about it, because that’s for the best, right?

Let’s not let them smear the names of these good men, any longer. Let’s just… well, pray some more.

Ngunit ‘di ako papayag, hantungan may’ kamatayan…

It’s amazing how Senator Revilla’s privilege speech really encompassed the man’s bravery. He faced everything coming his way, and freaking held onto power. Resignation? Pah! That’s beneath a man of Senator Revilla’s stature. He will hold onto that power because by jove, he’s a Revilla, and much in the same way it takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez, it takes Evil to be a Revilla. Does that make much sense? No, no it doesn’t, but is it that much worse than the entirety of the privilege speech. Just pity the man! Can’t you not feel sympathy for what he goes through, and the dignity by which he conducts himself in the face of all that?

Pictured: Dignity.

Salamat, mga kaibigan…

No. Thank you, dear Senator. Thank you for taking on the cares and woes of this country and becoming a martyr for the truth to come out. Thank you for helping us by proposing the laws like… err… ummm… for praying for us! Yeah, that works. Thanks for praying for us, dear Senator! I’m sure prayers in the Senate were totally more powerful than prayers made in your movie sets. Or something.

Kailanman ay ‘di malilimutan…

We’ll never forget you either, o great, noble leader. Truly, you have been an outstanding inspiration to all of us, and you will always be an indelible part of our history. The history of this nation’s ridiculous compulsion to put any showbiz personality into power just because they know your name and nothing more.

Kung ito man ang kapalaran, nananalig pa rin sa katotohanan…

You really can’t get enough of praying, can’t you? That’s why we love you, dear Senator. It’s beautiful how you would take the time out to even go to the Holy Land itself to pray for guidance. We wish we had that kind of money, you know. To go to the Holy Land, too. But we kinda have bills to pay and mouths to feed, but it’s okay! We’re sure not a single cent you spent on that trip was illicitly taken from the taxes we pay regularly.

Salamat, mga kaibigan, kayo ang aking tanging sandigan…

Huh? I thought you said God was your foundation? Several times in several speeches, even! Suddenly, it’s us! Such magnanimity! To elevate us to the level of God, it’s just, it’s just… mind-blowing!

Pagmamahal niyo ang nagbibigay kalakasan…

If our love strengthens you, then you truly are unbeatable. Nothing, not even the facts, can get in the way!

Habang kayo ay nariyan, lagi lamang tatandaan…

Wait for it, wait for it…

Ikaw ako, ako ikaw, magkaibigan…

Drop the mic, Bong. Drop the mic.

Project 52 2014 (23/52): I'll Never Go

.:Project 52 2014 (23/52): I'll Never Go:.

You always ask me those words I say, and telling me what it means to me...

There's so much left unsaid, but after last week's great series of shows and my hosting for Mr. Rex Navarrete and Mike Unson on two separate nights, I can't help but feel rather accomplished, and raring to go for more. So now, I try to focus my mind on stuff outside of work and performances. And I realize that so many of the things I say and talk about run the gamut of significance based on who I'm talking to, and when I'm saying it. It's not really something you just get to determine in one go.

Having said that, what else is there to think about, really? I've been running myself ragged the past week, but it's been all worth it.

Every single day, you always act this way...

So I do get questioned from time to time. I do end up having to defend myself and defend my integrity because that seems to be the most appropriate thing to do when questions come your way, and after everything's been said and done, I stand. Proven.

For how many times I've told you, I love you, but this is all I know...

If I didn't love what I do, I wouldn't be here any longer. Sometimes, that's all I have to go on, really. It's the "fumes" when I'm "running on fumes." It's the "what" in "what keeps me going." Passion. Love. For what I do, and in the pride I take in doing what I do as best as I can, and finding myself unparalleled in it. I begin to understand what they mean when a great man once said: "I'm the best at what I do..."

"... bub." Snikt, snikt.

And speaking of Wolverine and all that stuff, I realize I should review X-Men: Days of Future Past when I find the time. I'm just so occupied with all the stuff I have to do, I don't know if I'd ever manage. But whatever.

I'll never go far away from you...

In the end, all I have is my steadfastness to go by. That no matter what happens, regardless of the tempest, I will remain. I will survive.

Even the skies will tell you...

And many have questioned that. So many, indeed. But that doesn't affect me much, insofar as I concern myself more with vindicating myself through actions and through accomplishments, not through empty rhetoric and shifting blame.

That I need you so...

I need you so because I realize that this passion is what drives me. And it's good to realize that this passion isn't directed towards an all-consuming desire for a person, whether or not it is reciprocated. I've finally broken free of that. It's passion that I need, but it also emanates from within me, rather than something I need to be inspired into. And no matter the uncertainty, one thing is for certain...

But this is all I know, I'll never go far away from you...
