Short Post...

No LSS for today. This also probably serves as my post for tomorrow...

.:Gaming Freak:.

... But an entry is in order.

I guess it's good to re-establish some consistency in writing, but I've been doing nothing but previewing games, games, and more games.

So for the PC, here's what I'm setting my sights on...

1. Mortal Kombat IV
2. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
3. Civilization IV
4. Age Of Empires III
5. Star Wars: KOTOR II
6. X-Men Legends II: Rise Of Apocalypse
7. Guild Wars

For the PSP, here's what caught my eye...

1. A PSP
2. NBA Live 06
3. Darkstalkers: Chronicles
4. Metal Gear Acid
5. Burnout Legends
6. X-Men Legends II: Rise Of Apocalypse

Oh....

.:Today's LSS:.

Once you hear it, it sticks...

.:Street Smarts:.

One of the more amusing programs I've been watching on television has to be “Street Smarts” on Jack TV. Here, the contestants try to guess how well a random person on the street would answer a question that they're being asked.

It was extremely amusing when this particular African-American was being asked a few questions. Ever the typical gangsta rapper kind, he definitely knew how to feign knowledge.

Anyways, the first question was, “What was the emancipation proclamation?”

For those of you who may not know, this was Abraham Lincoln's proclamation that stopped slavery, particularly of black people. The guy being asked had no idea what it was, and said it was something like Homeland Security. He was then asked if he would've voted for the emancipation proclamation, and he promptly replied that he wouldn't, because it didn't do him any favors.

If he only knew... heh.

Next question was, “Who was Jack Ruby?”

People probably know him as the guy who killed Lee Harvey Oswald. The guy guessed he was a player for the Chicago Bulls. The host agreed and mentioned that Ruby “can shoot”.

Sheer hilarity.

.:Sheer Exhaustion:.

Halfway through our show yesterday, and on Gia's birthday, no less, I had to catch a short nap because I was so tired and sleepy and I couldn't even go on anymore...

I woke up at eight in the morning, a little under five hours after.

Yes, I missed most of our own show... I hope Gia's not too mad.

It was a bit annoying how the DJ's computer no longer has Yahoo Messenger, though...

.:The Taping, A Bit More Detailed...:.

The taping happened around five or so at the place of our package winner and it was definitely muddy there. It was in fact so muddy that our shoes were still spewing forth mud when we got back to GMA around midnight.

Nonetheless, we had a good time there, although I was aghast at how the kids were treating their puppies, holding them by the legs, making me feel very queasy for the poor pup whose limbs must hurt like Hades...

We then ate at Mister Kabab afterwards, and talk about horrible service. They definitely took their time taking our order, giving them to us, and collecting our bill. They notoriously took the most time in giving us our change... Grr...

Afterwards, we then talked about how we intended to do the second episode. Next week, it'll be my turn to write the third episode, so I hope I do that well enough...

.:Congratulations!:.

To my former partner, Anne, for winning "Best FM DJ" in this year's KBP Golden Dove Awards...

The day I so much as get nominated for that is the day I'd be extremely happy...

.:NBA Live:.

I'm already at my sixth or seventh or eight season. Lebron James is beginning to turn into a HORRIBLE player. In short, I traded him away for Dwight Howard instead, whose ratings were actually higher.

This sets my starting lineup at:

Center: Yao Ming (95)
Power Forward: Amare Stoudemire (99)
Small Forward: Dwight Howard (98)
Shooting Guard: Michael Redd (81)
Point Guard: Chris Paul (88)

Amazing lineup, truth be told. Will need to drop Yao and Redd soon though before they get too old...

Here We Go...

... I've been awake since 1PM, Monday.

After boardwork, I headed to GMA-7, only to find out that my work wasn't until 1PM, Tuesday.

The taping ended at 8 in the evening. I am too drained to even blog about it properly...

Worse, the stupid cabbie brought me to ESTRADA when I told him STRATA and ORTIGAS. How stupid can he get? And his idiocy cost me an additional 100 bucks, dammit...

Hmmm....

.:Well-Missed:.

Sacha has been homesick as of late, and so the Just Geeks League, at the behest of Tita Harvey, got together at the Chua residence (The JGL Watchtower. Lol.) to have a chat conference with her and just cheer her up.

Dominique was in Dumaguete, but he was still online with us. From the Chua residence, it was Tita Harvey, myself, Peppy, Ranulf, and Clair. It was quite amusing while we were trying to start the conference by setting up voice chat, Dom was audible on the line…

Dominique: Am I generating a lot of static, Sacha?

Even Clair found that to be a bit… wrong.

In any case, afterwards, we got to set up a haphazard connection, what with Yahoo voice rapidly connecting and disconnecting with us, to the point that we wondered what E-Bay was doing with Skype in the first place other than auctioning off good connections…

It was a very fun night, really. Lots of comedic times, and I was grateful to Clair for lending me a cane owned by Charo’s mom, which makes me grateful to Charo all the same.

The conversations with Sacha were choppy at best, but I hope she was still very happy, regardless…

.:Mondate:.

I met up with Pomelo last Monday for dinner, and it was definitely an amazing meal filled with great company and corny jokes.

I think I’d rather leave the recounting of the corny jokes to her, but I know I had quite a few of them, mostly puns, to be honest. Wish I remembered some of them… heh.

We had dinner at Friday’s, as I made use of the gift certificates I got from the hosting gig I did the last time, and then we ordered something a bit more. We ended up having a lot of left-overs, considering how light an eater she could be…

I guess after all has been said and done, I was lost less in the good food and more in Pomelo’s eyes… it was a wonderful, wonderful date…

Yep...

.:Today's LSS:.

In commemoration of a Mondate...

Please Be Careful With My Heart
by Jose Mari Chan and Regine Velasquez

If you love me like you tell me
Please be careful with my heart
You can take it just don't break it
Or my world will fall apart

You are my first romance
And I'm willing to take a chance
That till lilfe is through
I'll still be loving you

I will be true to you
Just a promise from you will do
From the very start
Please be careful with my heart

I love you and you know I do
There'll be no one else for me
Promise I'll be always true
For the world and all to see

Love has heard some lies softly spoken
And I have had my heart badly broken
I've been burned and I've been hurt before

So I know just how you feel
Trust my love is real for you
I'll be gentle with your heart
I'll caress it like the morning dew

I'll be right beside you forever
I won't let our world fall apart
From the very start I'll be careful with your heart

.:Before Recapping The Weekend And Monday...:.

... Lemme clear out some backlog first, mmkay? Oh, well... can't seem to find my MRT cards and whatnot...

.:That's What You Call Exciting...:.

So yesterday, we went out to do an ocular for Day Off by going to Tagaytay and checking out the stuff that the person we'll be giving a special package to will be treated to... maybe a massage in Sonya's Garden, a boat ride all the way to the Taal Lake area, where the lucky day-off winner will be then treated to a horseback ride all the way up to the Taal lake area.

It was tiring, to say the least. I finished work at WAVE around six, and then stuck around the station until my co-workers passed by and picked me up. So yep, I didn't have a wink of sleep from the boardwork to the trip to Tagaytay...

Anyways, it was pretty okay when we got there. We were accompanied by people from the tourism office, and so we went off to the area and checked things out, and then we noticed a group of people who had a Taiwanese along with them who looked quite a bit like Barbie Xu.

But anyways, aside from that, we then headed off to the boat to get to the other island where we'd end up going up to Taal Lake on horseback. So we were off there individually (There were seven of us all in all.), and we were conversing about a few things, including a rather amusing rumor about Sandara Park getting it on with someone in her car in Crame... hmm...

So we got there, and we stuck around for a while, absorbing the scenery... heh. Yep, the Taiwanese was there, too. But who cares?

So after a while, we went down on horseback again, and at this point, things started to get extremely exciting...

First, the one handling my horse switched with someone else. This new person started being particularly annoying as she exchanged in banter with the other girl about expecting a tip from me. While that was tolerable, what she subsequently pulled was not...

So there we were, near a pretty deep ditch, and she started, for lack of a better word, horsing around. The horse got startled, got into a kicking contest with a nearby horse, and my freaking left ankle was its shield. I got kicked by a horse, and it hurt like Hades. A little more trouble, and I'd have fallen off into the ditch, too. How's that for a first day of field work?

I was so ticked off with the girl for almost getting me killed that I ignored the pain and just proceeded down the 8-Kilometer long mountain path on foot.

So the casualties: my ankle, which got sprained from the kick, my sunglasses, as one of the lens fell off, and of course, my shoes, which were ripped apart when the horse started to panic.

On the way back, I had to endure quite a bit of pain as I couldn't walk properly. It didn't seem too serious at first, but when I got to the hospital, the doctor told me otherwise, as I have to rest for about five days or risk aggravating the injury, and requiring an orthopedic treatment if that were to happen...

Am I shaping up to be the next Jiggy Manicad of GMA-7? This was just my first assignment, and already I got injured... heh.

As a note, Kathy Chua insists that the "horses" in Tagaytay are ponies, and not horses...

Not that it matters, really. I got home, and the first commercial I saw was "Mane And Tail". I saw a movie at Star Movies involving Matt Damon and horses. Lots of them. Afterwards, I had to bear 50 First Dates, which featured a cow, reminding me of another barnyard animal incident I had...

What next? A pig? A rooster? =P

.:A Pet Peeve:.

I absolutely hate people who play with elevators. Those ruddy little kids who push buttons at random while the elevator is going up or down, delaying you for eons while you're waiting to get on...

I sometimes just want to strangle each and every one of those ruddy bastiches who do that...

... especially when I'm standing on one leg while waiting for the elevator because of what happened yesterday...

I really should make a weekly section to vituperate... maybe every Mondays. I can call it Malevolent Mondays or something...

I'll Remember...

.:This Should’ve Been The Sixth Year…:.

Marcelle would be a liar if he said that today is not a significant day at all…

Five years of memories. Five years of wonderful moments and unbelievable experiences. Five years of love.

But today, all he can do is remember them all.

And thank her for it. She will always hold a place in his heart.

Always.

.:Updating Next Time…:.

I had a longer entry in mind, but…

Well, I met a small accident yesterday. Let’s just say that a horse kicked me on the leg, and I’m having a hard time getting around.

Catch you all next time.

Random Thoughts...

.:Sheer Hilarity:.

Whatcha gonna do when those 22-inch Sumans go wild on you? Heh. And now, we have the laziest Suman post eveeeerrrrr...

.:Misheard:.

During the meeting last Monday, there was word about guys who take shifts in the tech department of GMA-7, 24/7. They are the shift heads.

I didn't hear the "f" the first time around...

Nonetheless, work has been okay in GMA so far. It's going to be stressful, but there will be free days, which means a relief for me, at the very least...

A conflict with the host has ended up cancelling a shoot this weekend, though. The running gag is they can build me up to replace the hosts eventually... lol.

.:Indecent Proposals:.

Apparently, pimping one's self out to clients to make them more willing to be sponsors is a possibility for Segment Producers... heh.

That being said, the question is, who'd even bother trying to send an indecent proposal along my way? :P

.:After Boardwork...:.

... I will be picked up by my co-workers in GMA, and then we go to Tagaytay for an ocular of the place for next week's shoot.

Unfortunately, this trip is for business, not for pleasure.

No guarantees that we wouldn't try having fun, though. ;)

Second Post...

And now, I make up for the not-so-great post the first time around...

.:I Took A Meme Or Two…:.

Your Japanese Name Is...

Ryuji Ito

Sounds cool.

The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to those who have a split personality - cold as ice on the outside but hot as fire in the heart.

In love, you feel the most alive when things are straight-forward, and you're told that you're loved.

You'd like to your lover to think you are loyal and faithful... that you'll never change.

You would be forced to break up with someone who was emotional, moody, and difficult to please.

Your ideal relationship is comforting. You crave a relationship where you always feel warmth and love.

Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.

You think of marriage as something that will confine you. You are afraid of marriage.

In this moment, you think of love as something you thirst for. You'll do anything for love, but you won't fall for it easily.

Maybe I just don’t want marriage right now, but I’m not afraid of it. I’m more afraid of kids, to be honest. I’m not quite sure if I’d make a good dad.

.:The Job Description:.

As a Segment Producer for Day Off on Channel 11, I am expected to:

- Report directly to the executive producer.
- Be in charge of the production of the assigned segment over-all.
- Coordinate and guide researchers on topic development and execution.
- Shoot, write, edit, and sit in the mastering of the assigned story.
- Handle the second camera on shoot or coverage if required.
- Preview and time code tapes and materials before writing and editing.
- Be responsible for the whole team, i.e., cameraman, assistant cameraman, and researcher, during the coverage.
- Handle money and liquidation of shoot budget.
- Participate in weekly brainstorming and post mortem meeting.
- Be on-call for emergency coverage without additional talent fee.
- Sell my soul to the devil. Lol.

That looks like a lot of work, but I’ll do my best to manage… heh.

.:Forget An I-Pod. Here’s What I REALLY Want…:.

What else, neh?

I wish someone in the States could send me one. I know it’s cheaper there, and I’m willing to shell out $200 for it…

I’m drooling right now… they have NBA Live 06, RAW vs. Smackdown 2006, Burnout, and Dynasty Warriors. Wheeeee!!!

.:Let Me Restate…:.

Does anyone else find it ironic that a song about being proud to be Filipino, “Pinoy Ako”, is blatantly ripping off enough riffs from a foreign song that the most non-musical of people can actually tell the similarity?

I don’t know about you, but I find that really sad, because there are so many other songs right now that are extremely popular yet don’t get the kind of attention this song does, just because it’s plastered all over the country with a mediocre reality show backing it up (The latter part, is, after all, just my opinion.).

I just felt that it’s kind of ridiculous how someone could write a song praising the Filipino people, only to turn out to be a rip-off of a non-Filipino song. The mere fact that the musician is consciously aware of how to manipulate a note here and a fret there to not be guilty of plagiarism already illustrates so clearly that there was an intention to copy a song, tweak it a bit, and pass it off as original.

I’m not a lawyer, and I’m sure the artists knew all too well how to dance around plagiarism laws, but the intention was clear enough, and that alone makes me feel that these artists deserve just a bit more than a slap on the wrist. I don’t have to hate their music to ask for this, really. I mean, I like R. Kelly, but that doesn’t mean I condone kiddie pr0n.

Oh, well. Enough vituperating about this song already…

.:This Reeks Of Awfulness:.

I’m a Dungeons and Dragons fan. Maybe not as rabid as guys like Charles and Jobert, but I was dumb enough to watch the first Dungeons and Dragons film, which absolutely shattered my respect for Jeremy Irons. Of course, in fairness to the man, he simply may not have been inspired to act because the script was just that bad…

But then, they decided to make not one, but two sequels. While reviews all around say that it’s “better than the original”, that’s not saying much. Telling people that “Batman Begins” was better than “Batman and Robin” wouldn’t exactly have given then much hope, neh? You just don’t set utter crap as a standard for improvement.

What disturbs me was that the director of this film was soooo impressed by a certain actress’ performance in “House Of Wax”, that she was offered a starring role in the second film. Her name? Paris Hilton. Her comment?

“Sounds like fun. I’ll get dirty.”

Didn’t she already do that in another film? ::snickers::

.:Quick! Buy It Before It Gets Sold Out!!!:.

Wow! You gotta see just how much they are offering to sell THIS GAME.

The guys selling this are smoking something pretty strong

Oooohhhh...

.:Today's LSS:.

I can't help but relate to this song, but maybe not completely...

Separated
by Usher

Oh no, no, no, no

If love was a bird
Then we wouldn't have wings
If love was a sky
We'd be blue
If love was a choir
You and I could never sing
Cause love isn't for me and you

If love was an Oscar
You and I could never win
Cause we can never act out our parts
If love is the Bible
Then we are lost in sin
Because its not in our hearts

So why don't you go your way
And I'll go mine
Live your life, and I'll live mine
Baby you'll do well, and I'll be fine
Cause we're better off, separated

If love was a fire
Then we have lost the spark
Love never felt so cold
If love was a light
Then we're lost in the dark
Left with no one to hold

If love was a sport
We're not on the same team
You and I are destined to lose
If love was an ocean
Then we are just a stream
Cause love isn't for me and you

So why don't you go your way
And I'll go mine
Live your life, and I'll live mine
Baby you'll do well, and I'll be fine
Cause we're better off, separated

Girl I know we had some good times
It's sad but now we gotta say goodbye
Girl you know I love you, I can't deny
I can't say we didn't try to make it work for you and I
I know it hurts so much but it's best for us
Somewhere along this windy road we lost the trust
So I'll walk away so you don't have to see me cry
It's killing me so, why don't you go

So why don't you go your way
And I'll go mine
Live your life, and I'll live mine
Baby you'll do well, and I'll be fine
Cause we're better off, separated

I'm sorry we didn't work out...

.:The First Day Funk:.

I didn't really work yet on my first day, and instead went to a meeting. I'm soooo underslept, but I guess I can make up for that today by going to sleep after boardwork. Nonetheless, it's all good. I think if I just adjust myself well enough, I wouldn't have problems with work, really.

I'm glad I got the job. For at least two months, I'm guaranteed a minimum of 10,000 pesos. Then we can figure out from there if I can really handle the weekly pressure, or if I have to give up this or possibly WAVE...

It has been pretty good so far, and I'm very happy about how things have been going lately.

.:Saturdate:.

Just a simple but very sweet date for me and Pomelo in Eastwood last Saturday. There really isn't much else I can say about that... heh.

.:Pinoy Daw:.

Extremely assertive of Orange and Lemons to decry that "Pinoy Ako" is not a ripoff of The Care's "Chandelier".

But I think anyone with an ear can listen and tell that it really is one.

I'm hoping for enough of a backlash to at least make OaL reconsider their stance on this one...

.:GMA and CPR:.

Seriously, there is a limit to taking preemptive action against rallies, especially a prayer rally that is not even causing as much trouble as the police are insisting they were.

I am not a fan of rallies, but like Aiza, I end up feeling that attacking these rallies the way GMA has been is drawing sympathy to the rallyists more than helping GMA out.

I know my blogging is pretty short lately, but give me time to adjust to my new schedules...

For now, I just wish that GMA would wisen up and not bother dealing with these rallies the way she's been. She's just fanning the flames of her own political demise, to be honest. I'm not a fan of rallies, but I think that hosing down people I believe mean well, such as former Vice President Teofisto Guingona, is just way out of line and so uncalled for.

Gahh... my posts are soooo short, and I can't find any time to blog lately... should go turn to audio blogging again or something.

Hmmm...

.:A Final Interview:.

Lest I be guilty of counting my chickens before my eggs hatch, there's still one more interview I have to go through before I am officially employed by GMA-7... let's hope for the best, I guess.

.:Not Much Else...:.

My blogging ought to stabilize once all this schoolwork is done. For now, I'm just thankful to have met up with Clair and company. It was really great. Dom was back in town, and he was nearly salivating over the word about Sacha wanting to try on a leather corset...

Wednesday, October 12, 2005

Oh, Wow!

.:Short But Sweet:.

It looks like I got the job.

Hooray!!!

The interview went really well, as you can tell.

.:Too Lazy To Watch A Premiere, So...:.

... I gave the tickets to Ms. Maan, JayBee, and Joe Spinner. Heh.

The latter two are LS Jocks. Pretty interesting if they did show up for the premiere... hehehe.

The premiere was for "Lord Of War", starring Nicolas Cage. Sounds cool, but I wanted to spend my time playing NBA Live 06 instead... heh.

However, we will be premiering: AN AMAZING MOVIE. CLICK HERE TO FIND OUT WHICH ONe.

So... who wants to see it, and how many people will I have twisting my arm this time? Batman Begins didn't seem to attract too many people last time. Maybe this would. :P

.:Eh?:.

Didn't know I was practically neighbors with Kyla Rivera. She lives in my floor in Cityland Tower as well... talk about a chance meeting. Heh.

No Need For An LSS With An Update Like This!

.:And Now, We Make Clair and Sacha Drool…:.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Coming this Christmas… the Madagascar Penguins Christmas Adventure.

You know you want to watch it.

.:Like Clockwork:.

Since Gia got back and became my partner on the air again, things got a bit more interesting. Inasmuch as it certainly changes how I do things, the fact that the both of us are working tends to take some heat off of myself.

She's been a bit under the weather lately, though. Lots of things she's been up to, considering how she recently hurdled some personal tragedies and whatnot, but at least she seems to be having a lot of fun right now, being the center of attention among a few guys like K-24/7 and Thor and even South Border.

Let's hope things continue running smoothly for the both of us...

.:Awfully Magnanimous:.

I purchased NBA Live 06 and while the game was running when I installed it, there was just one slight problem...

... it was in Chinese.

That being said, I had a hard time deciphering the game menus, so I had to have the game replaced. I went to the place where I bought the game, and the guy manning the store was extremely gracious, considering how he not only gave me a working copy to help me install the game in English, then he even told me to just give back the installer afterwards so I can replace my CD's with something else.

That's like getting Fable and NBA Live for the price of Fable... so I picked that one up...

.:The Last Day:.

It was our last day of class for Paul Ricoeur, and this is considering how I was slaving over my paper for the subject just the night before it. Nonetheless, it all worked out, as we were even given a very nice extension to make some final revisions to our papers before submitting it.

After the class, I just stayed around with Ray over at Chiggy's. We were just talking about everything from Philosophy to wrestling, as we definitely had a lot of amusing conversations left and right when Ray mentioned to me that he wanted to spill some details about me in class when I started talking about former loves, but chose to shut up because I had even scarier info I can drop on the class about him. Heh.

Anyways, it was all good, really. I guess even if I'd take a leave from my masters for at least a semester, I still wouldn't really have much of a problem hanging out with the friends I have in the department, really.

.:The Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior:.

And so I was wondering why the Ultimate Warrior was trying to pick a fight with anyone and everyone whenever he writes those incendiary diatribes of his online.

And Ranulf had some words of wisdom on the matter...

Kaya nga “Warrior”, eh...

True, true.

.:A Sort Of Good Deed:.

Finally got to treat my grandparents to Razon's. I'm awfully glad that they enjoyed the small lunch. It set me back quite a bit financially, but that's nothing compared to seeing both of them really happy...

.:Thank God It's Friday's:.

So I was going to do my hosting at TGIF, and it was a bit amusing, as the guy who was giving me instructions was, amusingly enough, fond of saying the word “critical” a lot. What made this particularly funny was that he was repeating this so often that in a span of thirty minutes, he would say it at least every three sentences. So when I did my hosting, I just had to squeeze that zinger in. Heh.

Anyways, the hosting worked out pretty well. I was wearing a leather jacket I borrowed from Ranulf, a pair of shades, and a white shirt under the jacket. The party was a rock-themed party and I must say that it was quite a success. La Salle-FEU jokes abounded when the name that tune/name that artist game was going on, and the competition was so intense as some of the contestants managed to reach the tambourine we designated as the buzzer at the exact same time.

The guests were having a grand old time, really. They were around 30-40 for the most part, so that music really got them grooving and whatnot. It was a party composed of BPI people who were also selling insurance courtesy of Ayala Life. That being said, it was rather amusing how some of the guests were trying to pimp one of the other guests to me. I'm not sure if she was the daughter of one of the bank officers, but then, it's not like I'd pay much attention to something like that, notwithstanding the fact that I had to dance with her during one of the numbers (Dance music, so it's just casual dancing.).

Ms. Aika, the one from Friday's who got me as a host, looked stress during preparations. Regardless, she felt particularly relieved when the event was over. It was a great load of fun, and I certainly enjoyed my time there. The nice payday and even the additional GC certainly made things a whole lot easier on me... heh.

The hosting for me went well. I had the standard “best in rock attire” segment, which led me to making the offhand comment that with all the leather there, the animal rights association of the Philippines just had to know how many cows and reptiles were sacrificed to make that lineup possible.

When the winners were crowned, they could only claim their prizes if they actually danced first. That being said, the winners were game enough to do the swing. Wow. =)

I'm really glad that hosting gig went well. I hope that's the start of even better gigs for me...

.:Impromptu:.

I was glad to have found the time to go out on a date with Gyn. Her friends, aka, my students, were also there. Heh. Truth be told, that was great. So we met up in Gateway Mall (Where it all began... ::gushes::), and we had a small meal at Burger King, since we were going to watch “The Corpse Bride”, which I will review soon enough.

I of course, wore the jacket I wore last Friday, since Gyn wanted to see me in "costume"...

You have no idea how hot it can get... and I'm not even talking about the jacket yet. ;)

It was really funny when we got there, since Gyn's friends knew me for the most part, so there wasn't any ice that had to be broken. In any case, we watched the film, and after watching the film, we had a late lunch at Max's. What was funny about it was how we were debating over and over again who Max really was, only to find out that the question mark in the poster already gave the answer away. We had interesting conversations, though, as we were trying to get any one of us to foot the entire bill whether as a despedida (Ryan.), to celebrate his supplementary pay (Ben.), or due to being the oldest in the group (Err... me.).

Ben was hesitant to use his hands, but I reminded him not to hesitate because the chicken was “finger lookin' good”. That ruined the punchline... heh.

After parting ways, I opted to just go with Elgine to Centerpoint (Memories... sigh.), and we watched “The 40 Year Old Virgin”, which I'll also review in due time when I find the time. I was very happy to have spent time with Gyn. It was a while since I last saw her, and I may have been extremely tired, but seeing her simply made me feel rejuvenated. All the stress that came from a week's load of preparations for both my Ricoeur paper and the hosting simply evaporated with her.

And to wit, I've never had someone who believed in me as much as Gyn does. It's unbelievable the sheer amount of confidence she has for me...

Well, that's my Pomelo. =P

W-ell...

.:Induced LSS:.

I was having a massage near Ateneo when all of a sudden, the media player they were using just kept on repeating itself over and over again on just one particular song. It was amusing, truth be told, the moment I realized that it was the fifth or so time I heard “Qing Fei Di” by Harlem Yu playing over and over again.

That is one really mean way of inducing an LSS into someone… heh.

.:I Am Soooo Not A Geek:.

I got my 128MB Flash Disk back. Of course, the 256MB one is gone for good, but at least I didn’t have to spend money again to still have a Flash Disk on me.

I just really need an easy and handy way to store my data without having to resort to the very unreliable floppy diskettes. Truth be told, I find those things to be increasingly annoying as they keep on asking to be formatted… gah.

.:Movies To Watch:.

I updated my list to add around three more films to my list of films I really should see… now people who hang around Divisoria know what to get me as a present… ::nudge::

All in all, I believe that makes for a backlog of nine films I still have to see…

.:Who You Gonna Call?:.

GMA has called.

They’re looking for a segment producer for their new program on Channel 11, and as difficult as the workload sounds to me, I definitely want to get the job, regardless.

I’ll be interviewed on Tuesday next week, so wish me luck. I certainly hope this bodes well for me, as I am in dire need of another job to make ends meet for myself…

.:My Partner Returns:.

I'll be having a partner again come tomorrow. It's a good news/bad news deal, as far as I'm concerned, but I'm sure you can take a good guess who my partner will be...

Whoo-Hoo!

.:Aftermath:.

I must say that last Saturday's celebration was nothing short of memorable, what with how well it all worked out for all of us.

Gyn and I met up at my place, and she really gave me cause for joy the moment she showed up. We stayed and talked a while, even listened to music, and then after a bit more time, we headed off to Shang-rila, where we found JM and Clair already present. Ranulf and Jill, to my recollection, were already in the area as well...

It was quite an interesting gathering, to say the least. There were donuts from Hoops, and it was quite amusing how we went all that way only to still eat in House of Minis. Hey, that's catchy. It's actually "House of M". Lol. Nonetheless, a few minutes later, Sean arrived, followed by Charo. So while Gyn and I were eating at House of M, Ranulf and Jill ate Japanese food nearby.

My mom then arrived, and I managed to introduce her to my friends. I was glad she seemed to be fond of Gyn, all things considered. While I was hardly done with introductions, Diane and Mark showed up, with Chocolate Mousse, giving me further reason to smile. Abby dropped by, if only for a short while, along with Ledz, and more introductions happened. Mario was the last one to arrive.

I know the party wasn't particularly loaded with an agenda, but it was still great, regardless. We were talking about different things, and one of the most amusing topics was about GTO. Upon being asked what GTO was, Mario promptly replied, "Grand Theft Otto". We had a hoot with that, as I then realized that except for Peppy, the harem was complete, as described in ample detail by Clair in her own post. Heh.

Soon enough, my mom left, and so did Gyn. The rest of us stayed around for a while, then Ranulf and Jill left for the J-Rock concert in Freedom Bar, while the rest of us went to the arcades to watch Eric Vidal show off how much he has improved with Dance Maniax. I was a bit rusty, but it wasn't so bad, truth be told. I still had a good repertoire, to say the least.

By the end of the day, it was down to me, Clair, and Sean. Everyone else left for one reason or another, while the three of us had dinner with Faye Tan, Sean's friend, at Crocodile Grill. It was a very enlightening discussion, although I believe Faye's eyes widened twice over the discussion about a harem and the answer to whether or not Chico and Delle were ever a couple.

On top of that, I just had to proverbially stick my foot in my mouth when I couldn't help but laugh my head off when Faye asked the waiter for a Blow Job. The drink, of course. She was guessing I never had one. Considering I'm not a drinker, I guess not.

Clair was mostly flabbergasted at this point, as she had no idea what was going on. Nonetheless, it was all good.

Of course, I'd also want to thank the people who SMS'd me greetings, and even someone who called me all the way from Canada, Sacha. People like you make me realize how much I have to be grateful for.

To all the guys who made my birthday celebration a very happy one, I thank you. I know I didn't have enough time to invite other people I should've invited (Guys like Cyril, Charles, Elbert, Elvin, Lloyd...), but I had to make do with what I had on such short notice. 'Sides, you guys made it all worth the effort of putting my 1337 organizational skillz to the test. Lol.

I'm very glad, really. Thanks to all of you.

.:A Rash Of Bad Luck:.

After three straight wins yesterday, I suffered three straight losses. I guess that's that for my streak in the tournament circles... let's see if I can rack up another one... heh.

.:Lunch Date:.

So there I was, keeping track of how many times the guy at Ayala Life said "critical" during our meeting, and I counted eight. Then, I was introduced to the band manager of the performing band, and he was awfully nostalgic and whatnot. It was really amusing, to say the least, but the meeting didn't go through with any hitches, as far as I'm concerned.

Then after the meeting, I ended up meeting Gyn for lunch, and it was just splendid. We went to LKG Tower to have some food at Tang City, and while I hated how bad their roast duck tasted, I still looooovvveeed the company. ;)

With a cutie like Gyn to start off my week, how can it possibly go wrong?

.:Games Master:.

Games Master magazine is looking for a cute Chinita girl, 16-24 years of age, who can be their Code Girl model. I would've suggested someone, but I was informed by her that she'd only want to be cute for one person and one person only.

For me.

::blushes::

Gahhh....

Looks like I have to write my post some other time. Final paper crunch is getting to me...

Sorry about that, jabronis...
