Farewell, Mightygodking...

.:Alas:.

Alas, poor Mightygodking. I hardly knew ye, nor your erstwhile community, Improved_Archie.

I have a sinking suspicion why you are no longer with us, and I find it disappointing that once again, "the Man" has taken it upon themselves to attack a fandom.

Pretty obvious, he did the "horrible" thing of criticizing Harry Potter two days before the official release (even though books were shipped several days earlier) and they ordered him to take it down. Undoubtedly, Scholastic then reported him to fifty other places for his funny photoshops, and one of them complained. Or Scholastic complained directly. Or both, probably both. Sucks, ESPECIALLY since both parody and book reviews have been ruled legal in court forever. Legal means nothing as long as any corporate entity can threaten a smaller outfit with infinite long drawn out lawsuits. Tort reform would be nice, but every time it comes up, the first thing on the table is "remove the right of the public to sue any company for damages of any kind". Which gets the whole thing killed at once.
