.:Fellowship:.

Further proof that being in different radio stations does not really inspire enmity came when I dropped by DWLS-FM to formally tell them I'm no longer going to be one of their Campus Aircheckers. I was in a bit of a hurry to get there, though, so I didn't even know that it was John Hendrix's day off, which means I ran into Jimmy Jam there at the station. Jimmy was extremely nice to me, as he even remembered my name, and then I told him about the potential work I hope I could get in WAVE, and he was really happy about it. He did agree with me that my former “listening time” is now my “work time”, and I really have to recalibrate myself just for that fact.

He asked me why I didn't get into RX. I told him that the only opening was for a female, as Chinggay is most likely to go part-time soon (She's a DJ, a newscaster, and a gym instructor...), and Kim of Radio 1's parents don't particularly approve of her radio stint. When he heard about my future schedule of WAVE, classes, teaching assistanceship, perhaps even a writing stint for Seeker, as well as more freelancing for Summit, he told me that I was more or less as hectic as Chinggay is, all the same. True, but all the jobs Chinggay holds require hours. And they're daily. My being a student is good for a mere nine units. My being a T.A. is good for only three (Which means three hours of work a week.) units. In the (Hopeful.) event WAVE takes me in, that's only a three-hour job. Seeker and Summit are for pure freelance, which means I never have to show up in their offices. However...

Jimmy: So what do you intend to write for in Summit? Those girl magazines?

Marcelle: I was hoping to write for FHM. We want to get this friend of ours into the 100 Sexiest Women of the World...

Jimmy: Hey, cool! Sex sells, man! It really does.

One thing I noticed about the LS people is that their male DJ's really have lively voices, and considering myself, I really couldn't see myself making it in LS if I went through with the Aircheckers bit. Still, it was all good, as I ended up making new friends there even though I was an unofficial Airchecker for a mere week and two days. One of the new friends I made there, as I previously mentioned, is JayBee (Ought to have taken her picture for reference, but never mind.). She's a really nice girl, and yes, non-Chinese. One of the few SSB people I know (If you don't know what that means, then don't ask.), which comes as a surprise to me because she seems like a really nice girl. Cute, even. Do note that I'm saying this though she's a non-Chinese, non-Grace Lasallite person. That speaks volumes about her. :)

Anyways, I was just hanging around the station for a while. Was supposed to go with Ronan, but he never did show up, nor was his cellular phone on at the time. It was fun talking to JayBee. She seems to be a really witty person who I find so much common ground with (She also listens to Chico and Delle. Remember where she works. Heh.), especially since neither of us have a boyfriend yet ;).

She played this noteworthy song, though: Come On, by Ben Jelen. That's the song with the video where all sorts of people come out of his piano while he's playing it...

In any case, there was another new LS DJ in the booth with her. I didn't quite get her name, though. It was hard to hear her as she was extremely sleepy back there. Nonetheless, I'm glad that I found a nice friend in LS, which completely made my very short run there well worth it. Just as I was doing it with RX, all I had to do in GMA was say that I was an Airchecker, and I no longer had to submit an ID to the guard... it pays to be in the know. If only ma'am Lally didn't leave RX to pursue further studies, I would've had no problems going to their premieres as well...

Here's some funny bits and pieces, though...

JayBee: So I guess you can't go on air with me now?

Marcelle: Obviously not. :)

And a little after that, she started playing one of her favorite songs... "Dying", by Five For Fighting...

JayBee: And now, here's "Dying", by Five For Fighting. I just love this song... *goes off the air*

Marcelle: ::sings along:: Dying, daing, itlog, at sinaing...

JayBee: What? So much for my favorite song...

Marcelle: Nasira ba?

JayBee: In fairness, bumenta siya sa akin.

It would've been funny, though. I would've likewise wanted to have answered this morning's Hot Ten Things You Miss About School, but then, my voice is way too conspicuous for that. I also noticed that my Generation RX response was never read. I guess that's a hint I should be taking, as all Gen RX responses that aren't too intense to be aired do get aired...

In the ratings game, I suppose we know why my status of prudence is the way that it is, and why RX will probably keep the streaming plug, as they didn't take it out anyways when CJ went to Magic 89.9.

.:Before The Schoolyear Kicks Off:.

Alin, alin, alin ang naiba...

I was really glad I got to run into Rowena again as this was our first meeting since the Blue Roast. She's really nice and all, and the proof that she looks like Ma'am Sining is just over there...

Anyways, the reason she went to Ateneo today was to finally get her thesis back, and it took them a while to find her thesis and hand it to her. While waiting for it, she was talking to one of her former teachers who will end up being her schoolmate in UST as he decided to go to Med School only that year. He seemed a bit shocked that I was an M.A. Philosophy student, though. More so when he discovered my undergrad course. What gives?

It was nice meeting Rowena again. I missed that girl terribly as even though we only had one actual dialogue during the only semester we were classmates, our friendship really went along quite well. It really is one of those “better late than never” kinds of friends, but truth be told, she's definitely a friend one shouldn't pass up when given the chance.

If only for the short exchange we had about future plans (She heard about my getting the T.A. job back... she seems to be decided on being a Pediatrician.) and the fact that we still managed to be relatively close friends despite the limited time we had for each other, I do believe that our meeting before she plunges headlong into Med School (I'm willing to bet that even if I get all the jobs I'm still applying for on top of those I already have, she'd still be busier than I am.) was a really wonderful one. And Rowena, thanx for the hug and the kind words. I hope I'll be calling you “Dr. Rowena” in the near future, though I'd be really glad if I never become one of your patients... for obvious reasons.

Along the way, I even ran into Ma'am Sining, and she was gushing over my sudden onrush of good luck. I guess seeing her moments after saying goodbye to Rowena proves my point above...

.:Seeker:.

I'm applying to write for Seeker Magazine less because I want to make even more money, but more because it's the perfect vehicle by which I can promote WWE RAW Deal. I hope that my meeting with them in the near future will yield me a regular writing gig for them. I don't really care if they don't pay much. Hades, I do it for free on Comic Images, to begin with. In spite of that, I'd still gladly write about the game because WWE RAW Deal is that good. It's one of the most ingenious games I've ever played, and everyone knows I've played lots of CCG's, from Harry Potter to Magic to L5R to Pokemon and Yugi-Oh.

Hope I get this stint...
